The athletes of Bowie High School showed their continued commitment to #POSITIVEBOWIE as they collected items for Thanksgiving meals for their extended Bowie community. This community consists of several schools within the Bowie cluster. The students were exited to gather these items because they want all families to have the best Thanksgiving holiday that they can.
This 2 weeks effort ended today, November 17th as the students will begin delivering food baskets to the families immediately. The students were not alone in this endeavor as their coaches all pitched to make this a successful event. Coach Duncan said, “I am not surprised by the amount of food the students brought. They were only expected to feed 15 families, but with their drive to give as much as they could, we were able to collect enough food to feed 21 families. Our students and coaches always rise to the occasion.”
The Bowie athletes and coaches give a special THANK YOU to Lisa Kunkel, Pep Counselor/Transition Specialist, for her invaluable help by working diligently with each family to provide the best support possible.
Happy Holidays from the Bowie Athletic Department!
